Organic House Blend

toffee apple / dates / vanilla fudge

Coffee Taste

Our Organic House Blend is a rich and smooth bodied brew. This is a coffee that loves the addition of milk.

The toffee apple qualities are enhanced by notes of date and vanilla fudge, which bring a pleasing sweetness to this very moreish cup.

Showcasing the very best qualities from coffee produced in the equatorial belt. With a slight acidity this coffee works perfectly as a strong filter coffee or in your stove top or bean-to-cup machine.

Coffee Origin

Our most popular coffee. A sweet and mellow brew created from the finest organic coffee beans from producers in the equatorial belt.

This is small batch coffee at its best, crafted from the world’s best organic producers in Honduras, Peru and Nicaragua. These high altitude farms are focused on the production of high grade, top quality coffee.

Our Honduran cooperative currently has more than 425 members, 81 of which are female – with a focus on organic, arabica coffee beans. This is a collection of coffee producers who are pioneering in their approach to coffee farming making use of their own organic fertilisers from the waste product of the coffee cherries and bioethanol – creating a truly sustainable farming practice.

The cooperative also values the education of their members and organises courses for the local children as well as an organic agricultural school for the coffee farmers.

Our Peruvian producers are based in Jaén, Cajamarca, and offer an excellent example of the flourishing Peruvian coffee scene, with Jaén now considered the coffee capital of the entire country.

This cooperative has recently built accommodation for producers to stay when they are drying their coffees after traveling from the coffee farms.

The cooperative has also built a nursery where they study which coffee varieties are most productive, rust resistant and produce a fantastic  cup. They have also developed a new warehouse in Jaén where they receive and store parchment. In it they have an expanded lab and a health post for producers. This means that when the producers deliver their harvest they can get a health check up.

And finally our Nicaraguan coffee is grown high in the mountains of Matagalpa, Jinotega and Las Segovias Nicaragua, this coffee has come from an area renowned for its rich volcanic soils, high alititudes and humid topical climates that are the perfect environments for producing high grade coffee.

The coffee cherries are picked by hand when very ripe, before being dried at a consistent low temperature to help enhance this coffee’s fruity characteristics.

Comprising of the Yellow Catuai and Caturra varieties, this is a high quality coffee lot that is processed using the very latest methods within the region. As part of CECOCAFEN, the Central Association of Northern Coffee Cooperatives, this coffee is produced alongside 2,600 other farmer families building a community of support that includes access to financial markets and global distribution.

Organic Signature Blend

caramel / hazelnut / cocoa

Coffee Taste

Our Organic Signature Blend is an award-winning coffee with tasting notes of Caramel, Hazelnut and Cocoa.

This is a smooth and chocolatey cup, with a light acidity and hints of citrus. Perfect for those who like a well-balanced, full bodied coffee that is best brewed strong and with a splash of milk.

Coffee Origin

Our Organic Signature Blend is a carefully balanced mix of Colombian and Indian Organic Coffee.

Our Colombian coffee beans come from Tolima, one of the 32 departments of Colombia, located in the Andean region, in the center-west of the country.

When ripe, the coffee cherries are picked and go through an initial flotation sorting to remove under-ripes, sticks, and general debris before passing through a pulping machine and working their way down the washing channels to the fermentation tanks. Here, they will sit for typically 8-14 hours, before moving to the drying patios or guardiolas for controlled drying down to 10-12% moisture.

Typically in Colombia, this is carried out on the farm, with processed cherries then being taken to a dry mill for careful grading, tasting, and blending. The coffee is stored in parchment until ready for export, when it is hulled at the dry mill and bagged for shipping.

Our India Cherry coffee beans are from the Karnataka region of India, where coffee production dominates the hill tracts of this South Indian area.

This exceptional coffee is grown organically, with the coffee farmers going over and above what organic certification requires. This includes growing coffee plants in rows beneath native shade, making use of cover crops to control weeds and making use of secondary crops to support the areas agricultural diversity.

Taking a carefully considered decision to concentrate on Robusta and not Arabica, this coffee shows that it is possible to create top end and premier grade speciality Robusta. This is what is known as R graded coffees – Robustas with the same care and commitment to quality that is recognised in the Q grading system.

Our Swiss Water Decaf is produced by Permata Gayo in the Gayo Highlands region of the Central Aceh – northern Sumatra, which is about as rural as you can get in Indonesia, it is a high plateau in the centre of the province.

This is a Swiss Water Decaf coffee that is decaffeinated naturally using water and without the use of any chemical processes or solvents, guaranteeing a pleasant sweetness in the cup. It is a process that preserves all the aromatic molecules and the full quality of its flavours.

The process works by immersing the green beans in water in order to extract the caffeine content. The water preserves the soluble flavour components of the green beans and this protects the original characteristics of the coffee. In order to remove the caffeine from the water containing these soluble flavour elements, the water is passed through a filtration system. This produces a solution comprising the original water and the soluble coffee flavours, now free from caffeine. The resulting green coffee is 99.9% caffeine-free.

Permata Gayo Co Op formed in 2006 in the Bener Merjah district by 50 coffee famers spread throughout five villages in the Bandar sub-district in Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia; primarily to increase traceability, sustainability and transparency in pricing to its members. In 2007, the cooperative was certified organic by the USDA and European Union.

A year later they became Fairtrade Certified. The Cooperative now has over 2,000 members producing 100% Fairtrade and Organic coffee, as well as Rainforest Alliance too. The Co Op also has affiliations with the Café Femenino project, and within 1 year had succeeded in building a school with the premiums paid.

The Fairtrade premium has been spent on 24 different projects within the cooperative. Just some examples of these are; creating a coffee nursery, building a cupping lab and employing 2 Q graders, training on how to properly compost, investing in grass cutters to help avoid the use of herbicides and supplying foods to members in the low season.
